Cornerstone Credit Union League
Jim is responsible for overseeing the Government Relations Department at the Cornerstone Credit Union League. He serves as the advisor to Cornerstone’s board of directors and works with credit unions across the region to participate in programs such as PAC fundraising, Project Zip Code, and the Member Activation Program.
Before joining the League in 2004, Jim spent several years in the financial services industry. He is active with state and federal associations and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Jeff graduated from Southwest Texas University (n/k/a Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas, in 1983 with a degree in Accounting. Jeff started his career with NCUA as an examiner in Houston, Texas in 1987 and has held numerous positions at NCUA. Jeff has been in his current position as Supervisory Examiner since January 2011. Jeff has been married to his wife Dawn for 34 years and has three sons.

Virginia Whitham, Chief Human Resources Officer for Navy Army Community Credit Union has 25 years of personnel experience. Virginia has over 15 years’ experience in the financial/insurance industry and has worked with top executives and boards of directors focusing on organizational development, executive compensation and culture. Virginia was recently awarded the 2018 Coast Bend SHRM HR Practitioner of the Year and is a Certified Senior Professional with both HRCI and SHRM. Navy Army Community Credit Union has grown from 260 employees to over 600 in her tenure, during this time she has assisted to navigate through leadership changes, a core conversion, and branch expansion.

Debra S. Holland retired in 2017 as the Commissioner Wage and Investment (W&I) Division of the Internal Revenue Service. Debra has more than 40 years of leadership experience, with more than 12 years as an IRS executive. As the Commissioner W&I from 2013 until her retirement in 2017, Debra led the largest business division in the IRS with over 47,000 employees, 70 executives and 2,000 senior managers. She was responsible for the administration of tax laws governing all individual wage earners in the United States. Debra oversaw a $2.3 billion budget. Her team’s accomplishments included implementation of numerous legislative mandates such as the Affordable Care Act, Health Care Tax Credit, Individual Identification Number program overhaul, and hundreds of annual tax code changes and updates.
Debra’s personal leadership story is one of triumph over adversity, from young mother and high school drop-out to one of the top women executive leaders in the IRS. Since retiring from the IRS, Debra enjoys spending time with her family, speaking to business professionals on a variety of leadership topics, and helping small businesses succeed as a co-founder of www.SheLeadsConsulting.com
I have been a police officer for 29 years. I have been assigned to the patrol division and was a field training officer. I was a SWAT Team member for 15 years. I was assigned to training for a total of 17 years. I am an Active Shooter Instructor through ALERRT out of San Marcos. I have instructed all CCPD officers in Active Shooter. I am also a CREASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) Instructor. I have instructed multiple schools, businesses and civilian organizations in the civilian response to active shooters.
Dr. Bill Moore has an extensive background in business, leadership and in successful church growth. He is a pastor, builder, author, and motivation speaker. He holds a Doctorate degree in Theology and Philosophy of Education from Southern Seminary. From 1990-2010, Dr. Moore worked with Texas Video Sales, designing and building television studios.
He and his wife, Anne, currently pastor two growing churches in Brownsville and Harlingen, Texas. They also lead a successful commercial and residential construction company, Victory Builders, specializing in unique finishes and quality design.

Fernando Pulido joined Multi-Bank Securities, Inc. (MBS) in 2009 as an account executive. He was promoted in 2010 to vice president and again in 2015 to senior vice president. He is the lead principal for the company’s office in Austin, Texas; in addition, he continues to serve the investment needs of institutional and municipal investor clients.Fernando’s professional career has been focused on building long-term relationships with clients and meeting their investment needs by providing them with expert knowledge and service through a consultative approach. Since 2011, he has served as a guest speaker and instructor for executives of financial institutions and treasurers of county governments at numerous national and regional seminars on fixed-income securities.Fernando graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 2002, he graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in International Business. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.Fernando holds several securities licenses with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), including a Registered Options Principal (Series 4), a General Securities Representative (Series 7), a General Securities Principal (Series 24), a Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50), a Municipal Securities Principal (Series 53) and a Uniform Securities Agent Law (Series 63).During his leisure time, he enjoys cycling, kayaking and paddle boarding with his wife and children.

Suzanne Yashewski is the Regulatory Compliance Counsel for the Cornerstone Credit Union League. On staff as legal counsel since 2001, Suzanne advocates for credit unions at the state, regional, and national levels in both regulatory and legislative arenas. She also manages the League’s compliance team providing compliance assistance, training, and resources to member credit unions.
During her tenure at the League, Suzanne has obtained several certifications from CUNA including the Credit Union Compliance Expert certification as well as the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist certification. In 2017, Credit Union Magazine recognized Suzanne as a “Rock Star” in the credit union industry. Suzanne is a frequent speaker on credit union compliance issues at conferences throughout the country.
In 1994, DJ Sergio began his disc jockey career playing throughout various kinds of parties throughout the area of South Texas. DJ Sergio is renowned for his unique mix of tropical rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Bachata, and Pop music in Spanish which has been heard throughout night clubs in McAllen, TX and beyond. Additionally, in 1997 DJ Sergio performed at the remarkable Graham Central Station as well as other popularly known night clubs as a resident. In the following years, he became a resident DJ at Club Rio in San Antonio, TX and has played in other important venues such as Club Diego in Las Vegas, NV. In 2009, a new stage of his career began by being part of Digital 101.5 radio station. Thanks to the radio and nightlife projection, DJ Sergio has become one of the leading exponents of Spanish music in South Texas to date and an important figure of the nightlife and the art of DJ production.
